SECOUND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS

Premier Soccer. New Castle United 1 at Chelsea 2 (Penalty kicks)  . Game 1 of 2.  This was a terrific game. New Castle United grabs the lead in teh 46th minute to end the first half when Callum Wilson scored in extra time to give New Castle United a huge boost going into half time. But Chelsea comes back and ties the game very late , when Timo Werner scores in the 87th minute. This forced overtime where it went on for 11 penalty kicks…yes 11. In the end the favoured Chelsea picks up the win in the first game of the home and home series.

 

English Premier League. Round 2 Playoffs. Game 1.  Brightons 0 at Manchester United 1.  Manchester United picks up a big 1-0 win when Brun Fernandez scores early in the tenth minute of play to give the hoem team the lead.  Manchester United hangs on and has a one goal lead heading into game two with Brightons in their stadium. It was a fairly tame game with only one yellow card going to Eric Bailly of MU.

 

English Premier League. Round 2 Playoffs. Game 2.  Manchester United at  Brightons.

Manchester United 1   at BRightons 0.  Second game of the playoff series went in Brightons. Again it was Manchester United who was victorious. It did not take long as Bruno Fernandez scores at the 10 minute mark and Manchester United was away to the races. A lot of yellow cards in this rough match. Six were called in total with a few more warnings. Funny all four of teh yellow cards in the first half went to Brightons and both of the YC in the second half went to Manchester United. It was a very defensive effort, not alot of attacks. Manchester United had four attacks to Brightons 1 in this match.

 

Moves on in the playoffs. Brightons is out.

 

English Premier League. Round 2 playoffs. Manchester City 0 vs Fulham 0..  Two game total goal series. First game in Manchester City sees both teams go to overtime and nobody scores. This one ends up 0-0. Yellow Card  to MC Mario Lemmina was the only big foul of the game. Pretty even affair as Fulham was very good on the road.

English Premier League. Round 2 playoffs. Manchester City 0 vs Fulham 0.  This game was in Fulham and the visitors dominated. Manchester City picks up a bgi 3-1 win and takes the total goals two game series 3-1 to advance.

British Premier League Playoffs. 2021. Everton 1 hosts Aston Villa 3.  Aston Villa was really in control of this one scoring three times on the road and had a 3-0 lead late until Everton scored to get on the board. A bit win by the visitors moves them on to the second round where it will be a two game playoff.

British Premier League Playoffs . 2021.  Leeds United 0  Hosts New Castle United 1  . This was a rough game with a lot of fouls. It was all tied up at 0-0 late into the game and neither team could really take advantage. But in the 98th minute of extra time Callum Wilson breaks the hearts of Leeds United by scoring for New Castle to give them a huge 1-0 win.

 

British Premier league Playoffs. Arsensal 1 Hosts Wolverhampton 0.. Arsenal gets a quick lead off a corner kick when Pierre-Eduard Aubameyang scores in just the 16th minute to give Arsenal the lead. But that would be all the goal scoring in this one as Arsenal wins it 1-0. Four yellow cards given out in this game. Yellow Cards to Wolverhampton,  ADama Taore , he also get a warning in the 92nd minute or he would have been gone.  Willy Bocy , and Joao Moutipho . YC to Arsenal were MoHamed Eleny

 

British Premier League . West Ham hosts South Hampton. This was a pretty tight match and featured five yellow cards . A rough one. The winning goal for West Ham came in dramatic fashion. Jesse Lingard scores in the 87th minute to break the hearts of South Hampton fans. West Ham advances with a big 1-0 win. 

British Premier League .  Tottenham hosts Crystal Palace .  Pretty wild game sees Tottenham jump out to a 2-0 lead only to see Crystal Palace narrow it to a one goal lead and then nearly tie it on a free kick in the last minute of the game. But Tottenham hangs on for  a 2-1 victory to advance to the next round.

Liverpool 0 vs Fulham 1 .  Pretty tight game that ended with an upset as Fulham scores at the 79th minute on a penalty kick as Ivan Cavaleiro scores to give Fulham the big 1-0 win. Fulham advances to the next round  with top seed Liverpool is out.

 

Chelsey 1 vs Burnley 0 (Overtime- Penalty kicks)  . This was a very tight game that went back and forth. Nobody could score in this rough affair which saw three yellow cards. It went to over time where nothing was decided. Off to penalty kicks we go and after four shots, each team had scored four times. But on the fifth shot Chelsea found the twine but Burnley did not. Chelsea advances after a bad scare .

Leicester City 0 vs Brightons 1 .  This was another tight low scoring game that was pretty even throughout. But in the 90th minute , if you can believe that, Brighton’s gets a goal from Adam Webster and in a shocking upset, Brighton’s beats Leicester City 1-0 to advance in the playoffs.

Manchester City vs Sheffield United. This one was all Manchester City as the dominated in picking up an easy 2-0 win.

Manchester United vs West Bronwich . Rough affair number yellow cards given out and one red card to Manchester United. A total of 8 yellow cards in this tight affair. Manchester United squeaks out a 1-0 win
