Premier Soccer. Castle United at Chelsea . Game 1 of 2

Premier Soccer. New Castle United 1 at Chelsea 2 (Penalty kicks)  . Game 1 of 2.  This was a terrific game. New Castle United grabs the lead in teh 46th minute to end the first half when Callum Wilson scored in extra time to give New Castle United a huge boost going into half time. But Chelsea comes back and ties the game very late , when Timo Werner scores in the 87th minute. This forced overtime where it went on for 11 penalty kicks…yes 11. In the end the favoured Chelsea picks up the win in the first game of the home and home series.

 

2022 World Cup . Argentina at Saudi Arabia

2022 World Cup . Argentina 3 at Saudi Arabia 1. Argentina gets off to a quick start when awarded a free kick after a yellow card by Hatan Bahebri. Sure enough Lisandro Martinez puts one in and Argentia gets a quick 1-0 lead just six minutes into the game.  But Saudi Arabia comes right back just a minute later. Firas Al Brikan beats Martinez on a Saudi attack and just seven minutes in we were tied 1-1 . Argentina regains the lead in the 26th minute when rolling doubles. It produces a penalty kick and Lionel Messi puts it past Al Owais.

Just five minutes into the second half, Lionel Messi gets his second of the game on an Argentina attack and it was 3-1 Argentina. That is how it ended. Argentina picks up its first win .

2022 World Cup. Senegal vs Netherlands

2022 World Cup. Senegal 1 vs Netherlands 3. This one was a good match, but Netherlands just proved to be too strong. They scored early and they kept the pressure on Senegal and picked up a big 3-1 win with a penalty kick goal late to salt the game away. Van Dijk scored in the second minute and the Netherlands were off. The picked up their second goal in the 35th minute when Dumfries scored. Natherlands had seven quality attacks on Senegal. Senegal had seven attacks also but three were defended by the Netherlands. Sarr scored for Senegal and Gakpo had the free kick goal for Holland to end the game.

 

World Cup 2022. Morocco vs Croatia

World Cup 2022. Morocco 0 vs Croatia 1. This was a tight game that actually saw Morocco with a majority of the scoring chances.  But it was Croatia who takes advantage and scores in the last few minutes to pull out a victory over Morocco to open the World Cup!!  B.Petkovic scores in extra time in the second half, 92 minutes in, to give the Croatians the big win. Morocco went on the attack once and were defended four times when they had control. Croatia went on the attack twice and they had two shots stopped by the Moroccan netminder.

 

 

Manchester United 1 vs Brightons 0. Premier League playoffs.

Manchester United 1 vs Brightons 0.  Home Manchester United. Premier League playoffs. This was a very tight game despite Manchester United scoring early when Bruno Fernandez found the back of the twin at the 10th minute. From taht point on it was pretty close. Eric Bailly picks up a YC for Man U and so does Axel Juanzebe.  Manchester United did miss a free kick in the 19th minute which would have salted the game away. Manchester United now advances to the next round of the playoffs, opponent to be determined.

Manchester United 1   at BRightons 0.  Second game of the playoff series went in Brightons. Again it was Manchester United who was victorious. It did not take long as Bruno Fernandez scores at the 10 minute mark and Manchester United was away to the races. A lot of yellow cards in this rough match. Six were called in total with a few more warnings. Funny all four of teh yellow cards in the first half went to Brightons and both of the YC in the second half went to Manchester United. It was a very defensive effort, not alot of attacks. Manchester United had four attacks to Brightons 1 in this match.

 

Moves on in the playoffs. Brightons is out.

English Premier League playoffs… New Castle United at Chelsea

English Premier League playoffs… New Castle United  1 at Chelsea 2 (penalty kicks). This was a terrific football match on the pitch today. New Castle jumps out to a quick lead when Callum Wilson scored after M.Alminor took a yellow card for New Castle. But Chelsea would not be denied. Another yellow card was given out to New Castle when Isaac Hayden made a bad tackle. Right after than, Timo Werner ties things up for Chelseas in the 87th minute . Heartbreaking for New Castle. In overtime Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech takes a yellow card and nobody scores so we go to penalty kicks.

The first round of penalty kicks sees each goalie make a big save and we go to extras!!! It took 16 shots in total to finally get a winner. When we did. Chelsea is estatic picking up the big 2-1 penalty kick winner to advance in this tournament.

English Premier League. Round 2 Playoffs. Game 1.  Brightons 0 at Manchester United 1.  Manchester United picks up a big 1-0 win when Brun Fernandez scores early in the tenth minute of play to give the hoem team the lead.  Manchester United hangs on and has a one goal lead heading into game two with Brightons in their stadium. It was a fairly tame game with only one yellow card going to Eric Bailly of MU.
